KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — We have heard of pizza delivery men being targets for armed robberies, but this is the first time we heard of this.
Public Safety first became aware of the robbery last Saturday when a Hungry Howie’s customer showed up at the business on Portage Road, demanding his money back because one of their delivery men had robbed him the night before, while he was staying at the Motel 6 on Vanrick Drive.
The victim claimed the suspect returned with friends three hours after delivering the pizza to commit the crime, but the victim did not report the robbery to police that night.
Public Safety identified and arrested the delivery man, 23-year-old Alonzo Wink for robbery.
Since then a second suspect, 18-year-old Donqueal Levon Turner of Kalamazoo has been arrested and charged. Both are being held on $100,000 bond.
A third suspect is being sought.
