CASSOPOLIS (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies handled two separate accidents yesterday involving school buses.
The first occurred around 8:30 Friday morning when 20-year-old Morgan Cabinaw of Niles lost control of her SUV on M-60 and slid into the path of a Niles School bus. There were no injuries reported in either vehicle, but the kids did have to transfer to another bus to complete their trip to school.
Another young female driver is being blamed for a similar crash on US 12 at 4:20pm Friday.
Deputies say 18-year-old Janel Chappell collided with another vehicle and then fishtailed into the opposite lane into the path of another school bus. Chappell was transported to Elkhart General for treatment of injuries. No one else was hurt.
In both cases seatbelts were used and alcohol and drugs were not a factor.
