LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Twenty-eight villages and cities in Michigan will share $5.1-million in road repair grants from the state.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the recipients yesterday, saying the money will help communities “fix their local roads faster to save drivers time and money.”
She says since she took office, Michigan has fixed 23,000 lane miles of road and 1,600 bridges, supporting over 89,000 jobs.
In Allegan County, Martin is receiving $250,000 for work on five streets and Saugatuck will receive $250,000 for work on Maple Street.
In Berrien County, Berrien Springs will get $192,500 for Mechanic Street.
In Ottawa County, Hudsonville is getting $209,000 in shoring up Corporate Grove and Corporate Exchange drives.
Those are the only three counties in southwest Michigan getting grant funding.
