BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — Police in Battle Creek have arrested a 25-year-old man for breaking into his ex girlfriend’s residence, assaulting her, then attempting to set the structure on fire.
Dispatchers received a call about the incident on Battle Creek Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. He left after 911 was called, according to a press release from the Battle Creek Police Department.
After fleeing the scene, tracking dogs led police to the suspect, who was at a residence in the 100 block of West Rittenhouse Avenue.
He was booked into the Calhoun County Jail for home invasion and attempted arson. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants.
