LANSING, MI — The U.S. Department of Education today recognized 356 schools across the country as Blue Ribbon schools, but not a single mid-Michigan school made the list. In all, 12 from the state of Michigan did make the cut.
The Michigan schools named as National Blue Ribbon Schools were:
- Michigan – Belmont – Chandler Woods Charter Academy, Chandler Woods Charter Academy.
- Michigan – Davison – Hill Elementary School, Davison Community Schools.
- Michigan – Dearborn Heights – Dearborn STEM Middle School, Dearborn City School District.
- Michigan – Detroit – Pembroke Academy, Pembroke Academy.
- Michigan – Grand Haven – Rosy Mound Elementary School, Grand Haven Area Public Schools.
- Michigan – Marshall – Hughes Elementary School, Marshall Public Schools.
- Michigan – Northville – Moraine Elementary School, Northville Public Schools.
- Michigan – Pellston – Pellston Elementary School, Pellston Public Schools.
- Michigan – Rockford – Meadow Ridge Elementary School, Rockford Public Schools.
- Michigan – Saginaw – Handley Elementary School, Saginaw Public School District.
- Michigan – Spring Lake – Lake Hills Elementary School, Grand Haven Area Public Schools.
- Michigan – Troy – Hamilton Elementary School, Troy School District.
According to the U.S. Department of Education: “The 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools reflect the full diversity of American education and serve students from all backgrounds. While awardees represent a wide array of schools, they share common traits. National Blue Ribbon Schools are led by leaders who articulate a clear vision of instructional excellence and uphold high standards.”
