ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An Allegan County sex offender is back behind bars after he allegedly cut his electronic tether and skipped a hearing.
The sheriff’s office says they found Daniel Loew around 10 p.m. Tuesday and he is back in the county jail.
He was expected in court for a bond hearing on Monday and didn’t show.
He had been appealing his 2019 conviction for sexually abusing a teenage girl, but the Michigan Supreme Court last week denied his motion for a new trial.
That ruling reaffirmed his conviction and meant he had to return to prison to serve his 20-to-40-year sentence.
