LANSING, MI — The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says it has selected the official 2024 state Christmas tree, and it’s coming from mid-Michigan with a short trip to the state Capitol in downtown Lansing.
The a 60-foot spruce will come from the property of Rich and Dorcas Albertson near Eagle. The tree is scheduled to be harvested on Nov. 1, and then transported the approximately 20 miles to the Capitol.
This is the second state tree to come from Clinton County and the 14th from the Lower Peninsula since 1987 when an official tree started being placed at the Capitol during the holiday season.
The spruce tree will be unveiled during the tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 22, at Silver Bells in the City in Lansing.
