KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A 29-year-old man is jailed on multiple felonies after a domestic assault with a possible stolen handgun.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the early Wednesday incident in the 1700 block of North Church Street, according to a press release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. He was arrested after being spotted by officers returning to the area, though he was not in possession of the firearm at the time of the arrest.
A search of his home uncovered a stolen gun that matched the weapon used in the assault. Officers also found ammunition, crack cocaine, marijuana and cash.
The incident remains under investigation. The suspect was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail
