KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The 32-year-old man charged with setting eight fires in Kalamazoo stuck around to watch them burn and court documents say he called 9-1-1 for one of the fires.
Kalamazoo Fire Marshal Scott Brooks says the buildings were vacant.
George Stanard was arrested last Thursday for the fires that were set between June 11 and September 3.
Stanard was seen in surveillance video near the fire that started on Portage Street and then walking to the On the Rocks store and the video quality is clear enough to identify him.
He is due back in court September 17 and faces up to life in prison if convicted.
