GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WKZO AM/FM) – Charges have now filed against a 20-year-old man who is accused of driving intoxicated in a crash that killed a man and injured another near Plainwell last month.
Joshua William Bommerscheim has been charged with operating while intoxicated causing death and operating under the influence causing serious injury, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Bommerscheim was driving a pickup truck August 14 around 6:10 a.m. southbound on US-131 near 102nd Avenue in Gun Plain Township when he hit a disabled SUV on the shoulder of the road.
Two men were working on the SUV. One of the men, 34-year-old Tyler Rexford-Dean Robinson, died at the scene.
The other man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
This is another example of the value of Michigan’s “move over” law, which is a common courtesy, at least, to Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker.
