CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is in custody and charges may also be filled against two others after an apparent road chase that may have been the result of a drug deal gone bad Tuesday Afternoon.
It began with a report of the occupant of one car flashing a gun at the other.
Battle Creek police and State troopers attempted a traffic stop on Capital Ave. and the driver fled, and then the man with the gun abandoned the vehicle, running into a wooded area near the Knights Inn.
The manhunt forced authorities to briefly shut down a ramp on I-94.
A K-9 led Troopers to the 23-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody and the gun was seized.
The other two men in his car were detained after police discovered a large quantity of marijuana in the vehicle.
They are being held pending the issuance of warrants and a bond hearing.
