KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two people headed down Parkview Avenue came within an eyelash of being killed after a large branch fell on their vehicle.
It happened just before 7 Thursday evening on the two lane road that runs from the BTR Park to Oakland Drive. The first Public Safety officers to arrive at the scene, found a massive tree branch covering the entire roadway with the car trapped underneath.
Other motorists had backed up in both directions, several trying to move the branch off the car and off the road.
The driver managed to get out of the vehicle on his own with just a hand injury.
The passenger had to be pried out of the wreck, and transported to Bronson Emergency for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
