GRAND BLANC, MI — Seeking his second win in four starts, K.J. Choi opened with bogey-free 66 on Friday to take the first-round lead over a quartet of players at The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc.
On his heels are four golfers in a tie for second. Rod Pampling, Brett Quigly, David Branshaw and Stewart Cink all are grouped at -5 under par as the golfers prepare to begin the second round on Saturday morning.
Current Charles Schwab Cup leader Ernie Els opened with 2-under 70 and sits T16.
The tournament will be broadcast live on Golf Channel today from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thomas Rhett performs in concert tonight following the conclusion of today’s play. Play will conclude on Sunday with the final round.
