PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Homeowners may be getting a small reduction in their tax rate next year if the City Manager is correct about a boost in state funding for road projects coming from the State of Michigan.
That is just one facet of a $73-million proposed spending plan that Manager Laurence Shaffer is presenting to the City Council for their consideration over the next couple of months.
The council plans work sessions on April 18th and May 2nd to go over the budget, which must be approved by early June and takes effect July 1st.
