LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan is a very big state that traverses two time zones, the northern part of the state quite a bit different than the southern part.
The Department of Natural Resources has issued a public service message just to remind people in the northern part of the state that means more than tulips and robins will be making their annual appearance.
There are about 10,000 black bears living in the U.P. only about 2,000 live south of the Mackinac Bridge. They tend to avoid humans, unless they leave tasty treats in their back yards, then you don’t want to get between them and lunch.
