KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — As we announced earlier this week, Phoenix Properties and PlazaCorp began work Friday on their $52-million 15-story mixed use development at the corner of Rose and Michigan.
“The Exchange” has gone through a lot of changes since it’s original design was announced six years ago. The developers were finally able to assemble the financing they needed this year.
City Manager Jim Ritsema says there are a lot of exciting things proposed for downtown, and some that have not yet been announced.
It will become the second tallest building downtown when its finished.
It will include retail, a two story bank, two stories of Class A office space, 7 stories of residential space and a penthouse at the top. It will also have several stories of parking.
