KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers seized two stolen handguns during a routine traffic stop early Sunday.
The stop occurred at around 1:30 a.m. Officers might not have known anything was amiss if a police dog, who was also on duty, had not alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.
A search turned up suspected methamphetamine and the two guns, which had been reported stolen in Kalamazoo County. The 34-year-old driver, a Kalamazoo man, was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail on a possession charge and four gun felonies.
