KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Friday fire on Kalamazoo’s south side is being called “suspicious”.
Kalamazoo Public Safety isn’t saying why exactly the fire in the 100 block of East Belmont just off Burdick St. has sparked additional investigation.
Dispatchers received several calls about smoke just before 1 pm yesterday, and smoke was all the first crew on the scene observed.
They were able to quickly extinguish the small fire once they got inside. No one was home and there were no injuries.
No details were released but Sgt. Michael Skurski says “several factors involving the fire were suspicious in nature and an investigation is underway”.
