KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — There was renewed talk and mixed messages from members of the Trump Administration over the weekend about the deportation of illegal immigrants.
It has added to the insecurity for the undocumented.
To reduce some of that tension in Kalamazoo Public Schools, Supt. Michael Rice says Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will not be allowed in district facilities without a court order or subpoena.
Rice said they don’t want to pick a fight with the justice department, but it is their own policy that schools and churches are “safe havens” and the district plans on holding ICE agents to that.
Right now, the Trump Administration and ICE has its hands full trying to track down and deport dangerous criminals.
ICE officials are finding that their native countries don’t want them back.
