KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM.FM) – The recently-signed Fiscal Year 2025 state budget will allow any students who graduated high school in 2023 and after to attend community college in Michigan tuition-free.
Grand Rapids Community College executive director of financial aid David DeBoer says costs have had an impact on people’s decision on attending college right after high school.
He says the expanded tuition-free program will have an impact on community colleges.
Governor Whitmer says over 18,000 students are expected to save up to $4,820 every year if they go to community college.
