ALBION TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Three persons were injured and a gas line was cut on Tuesday afternoon in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of M-99 and D Drive South.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the crash at about 2:15 p.m..
The Sheriff’s Department says their investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling east on D Drive South failed to stop at a posted stop sign and struck a vehicle that was traveling north on M-99.
The occupants of both vehicles, a 53-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from Eckford Township as well as a 43-year-old man from Jonesville were taken to Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson County with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash resulted in the shearing of a main gas line in Albion Township. SEMCO Energy Gas Company was able to shut off the gas line and repair the broken line.
It’s still under investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Albion Department of Public Safety, Albion Township Fire Department, Sheridan Township Fire Department, Huron Valley Ambulance, Marshall Area Ambulance Authority, Marshall Police and Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority.
