KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — Attention Parents: this may not be your teenager’s idea of a great time, but several local agencies will be staging a mock trauma simulation at Mayor’s Riverfront Park to demonstrate what happens when texting, and other distractions trigger traffic crashes.
It may be the most important lesson they get all year.
Teen fatalities due to distracted driving have been climbing dramatically because teens think they are invulnerable. This demonstration will show they are not.
Bronson Trauma, Life EMS, Public Safety and if weather permits an Air-Care ambulance will all participate in the simulation that will begin at 2 pm Saturday at Mayor’s Riverfront Park.
