KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Public School board has sworn in their newest member, and there could be more turnover with board elections this fall.
Yvonne Payton took the oath and took her seat last night.
Her seat will be up for grabs at the polls in November. So will the trusteeships of Takisha Johnson and Carol McGlinn, who were both appointed to the board within the last year to replace trustees who resigned.
Last night McGlinn announced she wants to keep her seat, if voters agree.
The filing deadline to run for school boards statewide is coming up on Tuesday.
