SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The South Haven city council spent part of Monday night discussing bringing back the city’s lifeguard program.
Councilman Joe Reeser says it “is life and death,” adding it’s not an ice skating rink and he is not sure if the city should spend the money on the program if they can’t do it correctly.
The city has $700,000 budgeted for the program this year, but City Manager Kate Hosier says that is much lower than estimates they have received.
Hosier says she will look into legal liability, get an update on two active lawsuits against the city, and find an expert to make recommendations to the city council.
