VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A man who allegedly had been “smurfing” is facing a long list of new charges after attempting to flee on a motorcycle.
Right around noon on Sunday, Deputies recognized the 28-year-old as someone who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, as he rode by on a motorcycle.
He sped away, crashing his bike at Niles and Pine Street. He tried to run away on foot but didn’t get far before he was apprehended.
Deputies say they found an assortment of illegal drugs on his bike including methamphetamine.
He is being held on four old counts and 8 brand new ones, including possession, driving without a license or insurance, purchasing pseudoephedrine for the production of meth (smurfing), and resisting and obstructing
