KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo’s Streets for All program is getting a 25-million-dollar boost from the federal government.
The money will fund turning West Main Street from one-way to two-ways from Douglas Avenue to Michigan Avenue; turning Lovell Street to two-way from Stadium Drive to Portage Street; and making improvements to South Street, Stadium Drive, and Douglas Avenue.
The 25-million-dollar grant from the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE, program is the largest grant coming to Michigan.
The city says construction is slated to begin in 2027, the same year Michigan Avenue will be under construction.
