PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Portage is limiting its access for the public due to climbing cases of COVID-19.
Beginning Monday, November 16, City of Portage buildings will be open to the public by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Considering the increase in COVID-19 cases in the county, we must strengthen our efforts to control the epidemic,” City Manager Joe La Margo said in a statement. “If you have business to conduct at the City of Portage, we encourage you to visit us online at portagemi.gov or call the appropriate city department.”
To make an appointment, customers may visit portagemi.gov/directory.aspx to view the City of Portage Staff Directory. Those wishing to make a payment may use the 24-hour secure drop box on the east side of City Hall or call (269)-329-4455 to make a payment in person at the Treasury window.
City officials note that the new schedule will not diminish the level of services available to Portage residents or other customers.
