KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo says curbside pickup of debris from the June 16 storm is underway in the hardest-hit areas.
The South Westnedge Neighborhood and part of the Milwood Neighborhood suffered the most damage and trees, limbs, sticks, and brush can be placed on the curb.
There are no limits on the size or volume of what will be picked up.
Residents are being asked to get the debris to the curb as soon as possible and no later than Monday.
The city’s monthly curbside brush pickup remains available for everyone to help get rid of yard waste and debris.
The additional pickup is intended to help people with debris that would normally be considered too large to be accepted in the regular program.
People who live outside of the two hardest-hit areas will need to call 311 to have storm debris that is too large for the normal curbside pickup to be collected.
