LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Police have to get a warrant to search your home or your business and to go through your private papers, but your smart phone is still fair game.
The Michigan House has unanimously approved a joint resolution that would extend that protection to your cellphone, computer, iPad or other device. In order to make it stick, they have to amend the State Constitution.

The measure needs a 2/3rds majority in the Senate and approval by state voters before it would become the law of the land.
