KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Central High School’s track team is used to running around in circles and last night they got a chance to march around Bronson Park to City Hall to celebrate their state championship.
Inside, they were greeted by the city commission, which honored the team with certificates and a resolution.
Mayor Dave Anderson said it takes teamwork to achieve greatness.
Head coach Tyler Germain said he has taught that focusing on what’s right in front of them and doing it consistently will lead to good things.
It was the first state championship for the team since 1965.
