KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Big plans for a long vacant shopping plaza.
As we reported earlier this week the same developers who brought the Park Street Market to Kalamazoo’s north side plan to redevelop the former Harding’s location at Howard and Westnedge.
They will be seeking brownfield redevelopment dollars and tax increment financing from the city to help make the project affordable.
The plan is to remodel the building to put in a grocery store and space for four shops. The commercial development would be called the “Shops on Westnedge” and be open sometime in 2019.
The say as many as 100 jobs in retail could be created.
