KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A flood warning is in effect for part of the city of Kalamazoo.
The National Weather Service issued the warning Monday morning after more than 3 inches of heavy rain fell overnight in a short period of time.
The warning is for locations near Portage Creek.
It is for Forrest Street at South Park Street, South Park Street from Crosstown Parkway to Forrest Street, South Burdick Street at Crosstown Parkway, Crosstown Parkway from South Park Street to South Rose Street, John Street to Jasper Street and Sheldon Street to Mills Street. It is also in effect for Vine Street from Jasper Street to Portage Street, Dutton Street from Portage Street to Jasper Street and Lake Street from Portage Street to Walter Street.
Kalamazoo Public Safety is urging people to seek alternate routes and prepare for delays.
