Motorcyclist hospitalized after southern Allegan Co. head-on crash

LEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a collision with a passenger vehicle in southern Allegan County Sunday evening.

No names were disclosed by Sheriff’s Sergeant Bernard Austhof, who was among first responders dispatched to the area of 56^th Street and 112^th Avenue around 8:45 p.m. That was where the biker, traveling northbound, attempted to pass a slower vehicle, but instead slammed head on into a southbound vehicle.

While those inside of the passenger vehicle were not hurt, the motorcyclist was eventually taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids in serious but stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
