LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Governor Rick Snyder has picked a Kalamazoo County Assistant Prosecutor to fill a vacancy on the 8th District Court Bench.
His office has announced that Kathleen Hemingway of Portage will fill out the term of Judge Robert Kropf who has stepped down from office.
Hemmingway has spent a decade in the Prosecutors office, most recently assigned to be the prosecutor for the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, taking on the most violent offenders.
If she wants to keep the job, she will have to run for the office in the fall of 2018.
