KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man has been bound over to stand trial on multiple kidnap and criminal sexual conduct charges after disturbing but detailed testimony from the young victim.
She has turned 14 in the few weeks since the alleged assault. She was 13 when she testified that 39-year-old Dontrell Williams approached her at a bus stop on Portage Street, forced her into his car and drove her to his home on Clinton Avenue.
The girl testified about the sex acts she was forced to perform and how he fondled her, first downstairs, then upstairs in a bedroom.
She also told Judge Vince Westra that she feared for her life.
That was when she testified William’s wife came home, and he panicked and shoved her into a closet.
The girl then pulled out her cell phone and dialed 911. Public Safety used her description of the house and GPS to track her down and take Williams into custody.
After hearing the testimony, Judge Westra bound Williams over to stand trial, adding a fifth Criminal Sexual Conduct charge. He is being held in the County Jail without bond.
