DEARBORN (WKZO-AM/FM) — After an unexpected holiday drop last week, the average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan is on the rise again.
AAA Michigan says the average is up to $2.50.
“That’s about seven cents more than last week’s average, but it’s nine cents less than at the same time last year,” auto club spokesperson Susan Hiltz said.
“People are driving more, so there’s definitely more of a demand for gas than there used to be,” Hiltz said.
Hiltz also said the national glut of gasoline is beginning to dwindle.
GasBuddy.com says the average early Monday was $2.50 in Kalamazoo, $2.55 in Grand Rapids and $2.52 in Lansing.
