KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – No one will be able to say that Kalamazoo Public Schools didn’t get public input before they embarked on their latest effort to rewrite the district’s strategic plan.
Superintendent Dr. Darrin Slade says that he held his last school-based session earlier this week.
He says he plans one more community session after graduations have taken place and the school year has ended over the next few weeks.
Board members who attended a few of the sessions say they were impressed with the way they went.
Carol McGlinn and Ti’Anna Harrison said they not only appreciated not only the way that Dr. Slade led the sessions, but by the depth and quality of the responses they received.
Slade says he plans to bring back a recommendation for district priorities, based on what he has heard from staff, students, parents and the public this fall.
