SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO AM/FM) — Two Van Buren County men are in custody after they were pursued by deputies, who broke off the chase for safety reasons over the weekend.
Deputies caught up to them later after they got a tip that they were hiding out at a home in the 67000 block of 8th Avenue near South Haven.
As deputies approached the home late Sunday night, they could smell marijuana. They obtained a warrant, taking Joshua Gibson and Christopher Severens into custody.
They seized marijuana, methamphetamine and a 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
The two suspects were jailed for fleeing and eluding and absconding parole and could face additional charges.
They may also seek charges against the couple who lives in the house where they were hiding.
