BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A 50-year-old Battle Creek man is dead following a possible Monday night domestic assault that ended in a fatal traffic incident on Michigan Avenue.
Battle Creek Police say they responded to several calls of a possible domestic assault in the 800 block of East Michigan Avenue, shortly after 11:30 p.m..
Police report officers discovered that one of the people involved in the possible domestic assault had been struck by a passing vehicle.
The victim that was struck by the traveling vehicle has been identified as a 50-year-old Battle Creek man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck and killed the victim has been identified as a 60-year-old Battle Creek man. He stopped after the incident and police say he is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time. Battle Creek Police were assisted by the Battle Creek Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance and the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety.
