KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The teenage members of a Kalamazoo robotics team that won a global competition this spring were saluted by Kalamazoo Public Schools trustees this week.
Stryke Force won it all at the First Robotics World Championships in St. Louis in April.
They have been invited to Michigan International Speedway this weekend to take an up-close look at the engineering involved in creating a NASCAR stock car.
Trustee Craig Herschleb said the experience for his son was invaluable.
The team, which is sponsored locally by Stryker Corporation and the MidLink Business Park, will also compete next month in another global competition. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has also taken them under their wing, organizing this weekend’s event at MIS.
