DEARBORN (WKZO-AM/FM) — AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan slipped eight cents to $2.32 last week.
Auto club spokesperson Susan Hiltz says that’s the second consecutive weekly decline.
“There seems to be a bit of a glut in crude oil,” Hiltz said. “Good news right now, and kind of unusual.”
That’s because, with the summer driving season underway, there should be upward pressure on prices.
A price rise is still anticipated, however.
“We’ll definitely be seeing a big uptick in travel and the demand for gas,” Hiltz said.
The early Monday average was $2.16 in Kalamazoo, $2.32 in Grand Rapids and $2.23 in Lansing, according to GasBuddy.com.
