OKEMOS, MI — Our media partner 6 News WLNS in Lansing is reporting that former Meridian Township manager Frank Walsh is receiving up to $216,000 in cash and other benefits following his resignation from the township earlier this month.
The negotiated settlement included over $30,000 in additional compensation that he was not contractually owed. Walsh will remain with the township on a contract basis with yearly compensation of $30,482, according to WLNS>
That settlement was negotiated between Walsh and the Meridian Township Board of Trustees beginning April 16, according to TV 6, after the board met in closed session to discuss his performance and a months-long external investigation into allegations Walsh’s management style created a “toxic” workplace.
That investigation also reviewed his distribution of Employee Wellness and Recognition dollars, and Walsh’s use of township resources to benefit his private consulting business, Walsh Municipal Services, LLC., according to the report.
