KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — An elderly Kalamazoo County woman is in critical condition after she lost control of her SUV and flipped as she glanced off of a business on Kalamazoo’s east side.
Kalamazoo Public Safety says at about 12:30 Friday, the 83-year-old, who had been traveling west on Mt. Olivet, left the roadway, shot across Riverview Drive, hit the Dog Dive, flipped and crashed into a grove of trees.
The driver was unresponsive and rushed to the hospital. Her name has not been released.
They have ruled out alcohol, but don’t know why she went out of control.
The business, a hydrotherapy center for dogs may have to be inspected to determine if it suffered critical structural damage. No one else was injured.
