KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo teenager is jailed after the gunpoint robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz said a pizza delivery driver taking a pie to a unit at the Seville Apartments on Beckley Road in Kalamazoo on Sunday night was intercepted by a teenager who flashed a gun and demanded money.
Kalamazoo Public Safety and Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies helped establish a perimeter around the crime scene, began interviewing tenants and generated information implicating a teen who lived at one of the units in the complex.
After a brief standoff, he surrendered. Evidence of the crime was reportedly found in the unit.
The teenager could be formally charged Tuesday.
