ST. JOSEPH (WKZO-AM/FM) — Authorities say it was the body of a missing Benton Harbor man that was discovered in the St. Joseph River on June 17.
He was identified through DNA testing at the Michigan State Police Crime Lab as Willie Brand. Brand was reported missing May 10.
Brand’s death has been ruled a drowning. Investigators failed to find signs of foul play.
St. Joseph Public Safety couldn’t immediately identify the body because it had been in the water for an extended amount of time.
