JACKSON (WKZO-AM/FM) — Consumers Energy says the nice weather this weekend accelerated the pace of repairs from late Thursday and early Friday’s storms.
Monday’s weather could set them back.
There are still a couple thousand waking up for a fourth day without power, primarily in Ottawa County. Consumers spokesperson Dennis McKee says they hoped to have everyone restored by mid-day.
Lineman from Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Illinois drove to Michigan as part of a Great Lakes regional mutual aid agreement to help Michigan utility crews make repairs. The National Weather Service says all of the damage was done by straight line winds, which reached speeds of up to 90 mph.
