PORTER TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Cass County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Rainbow Road near Glendon Road.
They say a vehicle missed a curve and rolled over as it went down an embankment sometime between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.
The two people trapped in the car, 28-year-old Krystal Tyler of Three Rivers and 27-year-old Rebecca Mallo of Cassopolis, had to be extricated. They say a third person was in the car, but left before police and emergency crews arrived.
Mallo was treated at the scene. Tyler was taken to Three Rivers Hospital for emergency treatment. Police say seat belts and air bags may have prevented more serious injuries.
It’s not clear who was driving, but deputies say they suspect that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
