ONTWA TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Cass County Sheriff’s deputies aren’t sure exactly when a 33-year-old Edwardsburg motorcyclist crashed and died, but they found his body around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when they got a report of a motorcycle helmet spotted along U.S. 12 near Carter Road.
They say sometime prior to that, they believe Joshua Pethick hit a guardrail at a high rate of speed traveling westbound, and both he and the motorcycle went off the roadway.
Deputies were dispatched to investigate the helmet and found Pethick. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
