LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A bill before the state House would give Michigan residents first dibs at state park campsites.
Representative Cam Cavitt of Cheboygan introduced the bill as one-in-three campsites for the entire year were already booked by January 8.
Cavitt says state residents deserve the first shot at the sites and the bill would give them a two-week head start before the reservation system opens to residents from anywhere else.
