KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The Bakers were headed to Bronson Medhodist Hospital, but only made it to Bronson Park.
Kalamazoo Public Safety reports that, just after midnight Saturday, the baby just wouldn’t wait. When police responded to a 911 call from a frantic soon-to-be father, Sgt. Kristie Hofer and Public Safety Officer Beth Fountain recognized that the head of the baby was already beginning to crown and the baby was coming.
They helped the mother deliver before EMS crews arrived.
The mother, father and healthy baby son then made the rest of the trip to Bronson Methodist Hospital’s birthing center by ambulance.
The baby, named Jeremiah, is reportedly doing fine.
